This little one has been hanging around the apartment complex for a couple of weeks. She’s been skittish, but little by little she’s warming up to us. She seems to want to be loved, but is still feeling a little fearful. And she definitely seems playful. My daughter kept chasing her around the yard, and the kitten would run far enough away that my kid couldn’t catch her, but not so far as to run from us (or our offered kitty food) completely. Trying to see if we can socialize her enough so our neighbor can take her in.
I got the same impression from your first shot here – interested, scared, but very much capable of being won over. Lovely pics!
Thank you! She’s a cutie!
She looks like a total sweetheart, with those big golden eyes.
I’m sure that if you give it time, she’ll warm up to you. 🙂
She let us pet her, but the baby moved too fast for her and was a little too loud for her tastes. 😀
At least she lets you pet her, that’s a good sign. 😉
Yeah, a few days ago we couldn’t get near her. She is improving rapidly.
I hope she’ll have a chance at your neighbor. 🙂
I’ll be honest; I’m on the fence about that because my neighbor smokes in her apartment… should kitty risk cars and animal fights or cancer??? o.O
Good question.
I’d go with cars and animals fights. :c
Mom, dad, grandma and then me all smoked in the house, never had a cat get cancer. Did lose a lot to cars and feline leukaemia though.
Maybe… Keith and I used to smoke in the house we had (this was before baby) and I always worried my cats would get sick.
I’m not sure it’s true if cats can get cancer from smoking owners?
Then again, my uncle and aunt smoke in the house too, their oldest cat is 10, still alive, healthy and fit.
So maybe it doesn’t really matter? I don’t know. 😮
Guess what. I just discovered what I should have already known… The cats that I’ve been seeing around here is really TWO cats! The day i took these pix I thought I didn’t remember the kitty having white on her… Then I thought I was just mistaken. Today, sitting in his usual spot, was the OTHER gray tabby, smaller, darker, no white socks!
AH, really? Both strays?
bet they’re from sister litters.
she’s adorable – do hope you can rescue her and don’t forget to let us know
Gonna try. At least I can feed her (much to the chagrin of ppl who might not want stray kitties congregating here for food. lol). I’m going to try to get my neighbor to take her in, because I am back down to a two cat household (my Neeners died back in June) and I think we need to stick with just two until we get a bigger place.
Dianda, maybe they’re so close to the ground they’re under all the smoke. LOL
